I wouldn't usually post a Web site as my title.

But it's not a usual day...

In April I was commentating at the Blackpool marathon when I saw a tee shirt with Ben's Bowel Movements on it.

Ben has bowel cancer and took up the challenge of 6 marathons in 6 months.

He's actually done 9 and his tumour is shrinking. We hope and pray that it continues.

Today Ben took up his latest challenge, a 45 mile run that comprised two laps of The Preston Guild Wheel (a 21 mile loop around the city) plus the 5k fun run that his wife, Louise, organised.

I was kindly invited to do the commentary for the fun run.

It was advertised as the Cheeky Santa Dash. Beating Bowel Cancer provided "cheeky" shorts for everyone and most people wore festive clothing.

When Ben arrived at the end of his first 21 miles the place erupted, and quite right too.
