Texann Times

Green around the gills

A quiet and dull-weather day.  Always a good time to go crawling around in your lawn, photographing tiny fungi for a blip (loved the gill markings on this one).  Starting Christmas week off with a bang!

At one point, as I was really low in the grass, with my camera and a small torch/flashlight both lying flat on the ground in front of me, I looked up to see a utilities company guy, standing at the other end of the garden, staring at me.  When he realized he'd been spotted, he blurted out that he was just checking our lines and turned tail.  I'm sure he's seen weirder things in his job than someone apparently photographing their grass.

You'll be delighted to hear that I think we've all seen enough fun-guy and much-room puns on here recently so I'll keep those for our Christmas Cracker moments.
