A BITTER COLD MORNING 

Ice coated the Crane Pond. 
Making the Sandhills lose some of their grace,
As they fought to pull those long legs out of the frozen layer..

As for me,
My mittens and light weight gloves,
Were no match against the frigid temps.
My question is,
Why do hand warmers stop working about 5 minutes after sunrise.?
I mean the expensive Zippos, 
Plus those Walmort kind you gotta shake to get started.
