Object of Desire

I've been wanting a birdbath for a long time. Now I have one, thanks to the gift card I got as a leaving work present. As the cheerful employee at Portland Nursery was helping me get this into the car, he mentioned that there are no rebates given when a raccoon tips it over and the saucer breaks. Even though the dish part locks into the pedestal, raccoons apparently don't know their own strength and will pull it over in their excitement to wash their little paws. He then explained that the way to prevent this calamity is to get rebar and drive it into the ground and set the pedestal over it. Robert brought home rebar which seemed ridicuously long, but with a sledgehammer we drove it home and now I have my birdbath!

This is the highlight of the day.
