The reason for the season

The only shot I took today, but a fitting one, to remind us of the reason behind all the hectic preparation. I took this as we were going into church this evening for Carols round the tree. They started this about 4 or 5 years ago when someone had complained to my brother-in-law John (who is the organist and music leader) after Christmas one year that they had never sung their favorite carol, so they started this evening of gathering around the tree at the front of the church to sing carols that people could request. We had a wonderful mix of old and new carols including several I wasn't familiar with.
