Mt Everest Memorial Sculpture

Designed to commemorate the lives of those who were lost in the ascent of Mt Everest this memorial sculpture is erected outside a medical clinic at Pheriche.  The names of the dead, their nationality and climbing party  are engraved on the flat inner surfaces of the split cone.



Only pity is that there isn't a proper panel to tell you about it - I'm afraid when we were there there was a piece of paper cello-taped to the outside; hardly doing this magnificent sculpture justice!
