Juvenile Bald Eagle

This morning, I attended the release ~ by The Wildlife Center of Virginia ~ of a rehabbed juvenile Bald Eagle, at Natural Chimneys Park near Mt. Solon, Virginia. He is wearing a solar powered transmitter so he can be followed as he goes on about his life - enabling WCV to learn more about Bald Eagle behavior, and about how birds that have been injured and repaired/rehabbed do after their release. The picture ~ taken just prior to his release ~ shows the backpack he will wear for the rest of his life (very light - he won't be aware of it in any way at all).
