Random Acts of Kindness!
Ever wondered where the tree of life gets water, well you don't have to anymore. Went to take photos at the tree of life site with the Ination group and was so surprised to see this lady watering the tree! Her name is Ann and she's lived in Bahrain for 12 years. Whenever she gets a chance to come to the tree of life, she brings bottles of water and spends a fair amount of time watering the tree. I also helped out:-)
From Wikipedia -
The Tree of Life (Shajarat-al-Hayat) in Bahrain is an approximately 400 year-old, 9.75 m (32 ft) high Prosopis cineraria[1] tree located 2 km (1.2 mi) from Jebel Dukhan. The tree stands on top of a 7.6 m (25 ft) high sandy tell that formed around a 500-year-old fortress.
Trees and shrubs of Prosopis genus are extremely well adapted to arid environments with one of the deepest known root systems. The tree is a local tourist attraction, as it is the only major tree growing in the area. The tree is visited by approximately 50,000 tourists every year.
There is no known source of water, except now we know Ann waters it regular. Thank you Ann for helping keep history alive.
