After all - what else would one spend one's time doing on Christmas Eve?

Walter has been busy building the unit you can see in the corner, and it will eventually be followed by two further units, to fill the whole back wall of the study.  And I spent a good part of the day putting coats of varnish on it.  

That's it till after Xmas now - the younger daughter has now arrived, and the other is due tomorrow morning.
