End of an era

My lovely Aunt Lucy passed away peacefully this morning. She was 91 and had really slipped away through dementia some time ago. Still very sad.
In better times I remember her as the queen of Christmas. She was a bundle of energy and huge fun.
Great stories abound but perhaps none more than being on The Warwick Castle in 1942 when it was torpedoed in the Atlantic. She was pulled out of a dinghy onto the rescue ship by a bloke who exclaimed "Bloody hell. It's Lucy Cockeram".
If you believe in an afterlife she's up there organising the best game of charades that was ever played.
