Christmas Eve Downtown
Son P and family were planning to come here for our traditional Swedish xmas eve dinner. But Mom is sick with THE flu (yes, in spite of the flu shot) and Tatum has strep throat. So change of plans! -we took Fiona downtown to ride the holiday carousel (fundraiser for treehouse-foster kids) and look at lights - and it was her first ride on the trolley. A beautiful time of day (3-5 PM) the sun lit up the tops of the buildings and the lights looked so pretty. She loved the carousel - she got on the purple horse she wanted, and after we got a bag of hot mini donuts which were delicious and eaten all up. She LOVED the train in the window of Macy’s—her Dad used to love it too - about 40+ years ago. We went inside to just look at Santa - too crowded - but she loved following the reindeer tracks. Not too many last minute shoppers. Fiona never asks for anything .... Then back on the trolley and Dad came over for some herring and cheese snacks and we sent some meatballs etc and the presents home with them as we don’t know about tomorrow. (H and I and our other son and family do not need to get the flu or strep throat). A really different day - but salvaged quite well I think. I loved our trip downtown! I hope everyone feels better tomorrow.
And once again I hope you blippers have a wonderful day!
Put the city trip on flickr without much edit…… and now I need to go spend a bit of Christmas Eve with H!
