I wish it could be Christmas every dayayay…..
NEW BUS FOR PORT APPIN
Well the project finally came together yesterday. The remaining 'plug' glazing was fitted, the lower deck driver's cab and seats were painted and exterior decals attached. The whole model got a final check over and the paintwork was retouched and varnished where it gets damaged by constant handling - and not through over enthusiastic 'brumming' - as MrsDB likes to tell people. Ha ha ha. A new destination box was fitted and a small destination 'Taylinloan' (suggested by Blipper Habbie) was added.
Our Port Appin operator ran a Santa Special (groan) leading up to Christmas and the local press and bus spotters were out in force to capture the new bus on it's first day of service. Regular conductress Lucy Mucklebackit donned her Christmas outfit, usually reserved for the Mechanics and Fitters Ball and posed for her admirers. She celebrates 50 years service with the Company next year - I'm sure that revealing costume will get at least one more outing. (Saints preserve us).
My Australian grandchildren saw the 'Christmas model' in Hobbyco in Sydney and insisted on getting it for me. I thought I'd better include it in a pic for them. Bless them.
