Had to wake the children in order to get the day started, that's a first!
Then mid-morning the second surprise, the guy who has our turkey turned on the doorstep (in the U.K. the 25th might be sacrosanct but here, no) telling us (or rather Mr K, we were both still in our jammies but I figure it's the job of the man of the house to talk to a stranger on your own doorstep protected only by a thin layer of cotton) that our bird was sitting in their hallway and would we come and get it...Mr K quite rightly refused, having had bucks fizz for breakfast and not wanting to drive anywhere thank you very much. They were not happy, the police were mentioned (apparently, I was busy doing Christmas chef-y things) bring it on we say, DHL are the people at fault, we'll be chatting to them tomorrow I guess. Fun, fun, fun!
