The Little Lyle Files

Sweet Tooth

Still reeling from the experience of clearing out my parents flat last year, which highlighted how much “stuff” we accumulate and don’t like to get rid of when they are gifts, I suggested that any gifts this year should be consumable items. Although I did get some non-consumable items, most of my gifts have complied with the brief and I now have a substantial amount of chocolate and a few other consumable items.

This should easily see see me through to the weekend.

I’ve survived the day despite the fact that Becky appeared in our bedroom at 4:47am. While she was refused permission to go downstairs to begin the festivities until after 6am, sleep was trashed and I am almost cross-eyed as I write with tiredness and about to head to the land of nod. I was well-behaved and didn’t gorge myself too much on Mrs W’s fabulous Christmas lunch, which is no indictment on her food but rather a reflection of how life has changed for me in the past year and I didn’t want to challenge my system to too much of a test by over-eating. On reflection, I remember feeling decidedly ill last Christmas Day and I have no doubt that it was my, at the time, undiagnosed illness to blame.

Hope you have all had a great Christmas. Happy Christmas to one and all.
