Wild lupins

Although the Mackenzie Country, Inland Canterbury, is the area best known for its spectacular show of Russell lupins, there are patches of this alien garden variety of lupin in many parts of the country.  These few plants are growing along the side of the Summit Road, on Mt Pleasant.

It has been a glorious day here, today, much nicer than Christmas Day yesterday.
