A sparkling jewel

Jewel spider, also known as a Christmas spider (Austracantha minax). From my favourite bee to my favourite spider. 

We went for a walk in the bush yesterday and saw a lot of these – my parents also get a lot, being much closer to the bush than me. But this girl is in my garden, though I couldn't get a top view of her, because of the awkward spot she has spun her web. I have only ever seen two in my garden, so I'm happy they are still about.
