The Bronte's
Today in my Victorinan Literature lecture we discussed Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, i have to say found the novel rather dark and grotesque in places, however i enjoyed it very much, once i got into it :-). Rather than typing out a passage from the book i thought i would post one of Emily Bonte's poems, of course she only did the one novel, poetry was her consuming passion me thinks.
Emily Jane Brontë (1818-1848)
The Night is Darkening round Me
THE night is darkening round me,
The wild winds coldly blow ;
But a tyrant spell has bound me,
And I cannot, cannot go.
The giant trees are bending
Their bare boughs weighed with snow ;
The storm is fast descending,
And yet I cannot go.
Clouds beyond clouds above me,
Wastes beyond wastes below ;
But nothing drear can move me :
I will not, cannot go.
Ps i guess me and sis(kiwilizzi) had the same idea for a blip today, both shooting the moon from opposit ends of the earth :-)
