Christmas trees for sale

Selling Christmas trees after Christmas Day ..?  No, these are really being sold for New Year (Новый Год).  That's the big event in Russia with the Orthodox Christmas coming in January.  Christmas trees (along with Christmas) were banned for a period during the Soviet Union.  The humble fir tree was rehabilitated as the 'New Year Tree' in 1935.
