Christmas star trails

I was very lucky to get a new lens for my camera from mum and noticed that it was beautifully clear (but very cold) in the evening. I persuaded her to take me out towards Belsay where there is less light pollution to see if I could get photographs of the stars, or try a star trail. I've never done them before so I got really excited - I'm really pleased with the photo and am looking forward to practicing more while I am home (it will be highly unlikely in Oxford because of the light pollution).
