Feeling better

Boxing day madness

Scarborough celebrates boxing in style.

They have a few different things going off  the first being the footy match between the fisherman and firemen it has been going on since 1898 originally played on xmas day. It was originally started to help the widows and orphans of the Scarborough fishermen who drowned at sea on the Evelyn and Maud. It ends up being a free for all and at the end some of them get thrown in the sea.

They also have a 'penny mile'. Basically they put pennies along the sea front starting outside the lifeboat station. Only 1 and 2p's are put down in aid of the charity.

After there is a raft race where again it is a free for all where they all try to knock each other off their rafts.

It was great to watch all the people having fun even though it as blinking cold.

We finished off by having a hot chocolate at my favourite cafe.

Tonight we stuffed ourselves with cobs and cakes. Very nice.

Good thing that happened today -
