Christmas Eve Day Adventures

The weather was great for us the whole time we were in CHrstichurch.

Spent a couple of hours wondering around the central city and Ballentynes. Managed to have a wee spend at Johnsons Grocery store aka Ackwrights. An amazing store and what my blip for today was supposed to be.

We went for a rather long walk with the boys, to feed the ducks and saw some very large eels and trout in the Avon river. We ended up at a place called Swann Lake. A very lovely place for spa's and facials, which has a huge pond and soem very beautifull white swans. hence the fact that it is called swann lake.

No 1 nephew, Mum and I went for a drive in the afternoon. It was like going down memory lane. We ended up going to the primary school my Mum went to 65 years ago, then onto the house she lived in till she was 13 and to the church they used to go to every Sunday, across the road form their house. We were even brave enough to talk to the owner of the house and got taken for a wee tour.

Ended up at the Catholic Church in the city, where my Mum used to have piano lessons from the nuns on a Saturday morning. Her and her sister would then peer through the fence of the church to watch the brides walk up the aisle of the church to get married. Mum tells us the nuns would rap them over the knuckles with a ruler, if they got something wrong.

Even managed the 11pm carols and service at the Church where my GT GT Grandparents were married.

Busy Christmas Eve day / night.
