Rangitata River and Mt Peel

Another trip south today, as we delivered the inlaws back to Timaru. On the way down, we took the inland route via the new house at Peel Forest, giving them the chance to view it for the first time, as well as an opportunity to offload a trailer load of our stuff.

As we returned home up State Highway 1, I took this shot as we crossed the Rangitata from the passenger seat, looking up the braided river past the railbridge towards the foothills of the Alps. The peak in the centre is Mt Peel, soon to be the backdrop of our new neighbourhood. With only a fortnight to go unitl we shift, Mrs H and I are excited at the prospect.
