Newly gilded gate at Chatsworth

Cold walk across the park.  We reflected on how it was designed to increase the breadth of view, and hence the apparent size of the property.  It looks vast, from the hunting tower on the ridge to the village of Edensor, now hidden away at the end of the valley.
