The train standing at platform 2

Is waiting for a paramedic!!

We travelled home from Devon today and were delayed at Axminster for 28 minutes as a passenger was unwell and needed to be seen by a paramedic. I do hope that the person wasn’t too unwell as the paramedic didn’t turn up and so he/she was off loaded, so that the train could continue the journey.

What I discovered was, that a delay of more than 30 minutes prompts compensation (the magic of mobile phones for info when you not looking for it!!). So not surprising that the train moved on when it did.

As it was, the train did non-stop for the last leg of the journey and was only marginally late into Waterloo. The train was absolutely packed with travellers. We were the lucky ones as other lines had horrendous problems due to engineering works over running!!!

A little bit of info for those of you who travel by train in the UK and book on-line in advance. Check out the cost of first class, it may be more reasonable than expected. For an extra £1 each, each way, we had the comfort of first class seats!!!
