My car is legally perfectly road worthy according to the NCT, even though my tyres are nearly 10 years old. To be on the safe side I got my car four new tyres and as it turned out the car also needed new brake pads and two new fan belts. The car drives so much better now and brakes a lot quicker too. I just hope the car lasts another few years after all the money I have sunk into it. But, it does feel like a new car and is so much more responsive. Money well spent.
