A steak out...

It seems it is our turn this year to host the family get-together on New Year's day. I don't know what the traditions elsewhere are but here in Scotland you wolf down steak pie in an effort to soak up the excess alcohol from the Hogmanay celebrations. It might not always be what you need but it's what you get. At least it is in our house

Today I ordered from our local butcher enough steak pie to feed 14 people. Their pies are very good and it is always wise to order well in advance as they are in great demand. Stephen took my order and I pick them up on Wednesday. I'll probably need picked up off the floor when I find out how much this is going to cost me. I'm sure it will be wonderful though.
