Summer mist on the Packhorse Track
Though partly cloudy when we started at Gebbies Pass, by the time we reached Packhorse Hut there was a swirling mist. The foxgloves (digitalis) brightened up the scene as we approached the hut. Rather than detract, the mist added another dimension to the day.
This is how misty Packhorse Hut looked when we reached it. Built in 1914 as a tea house, it is now frequented by walkers who can enjoy their packed lunch inside, or sleep overnight in one of the nine bunks.
