Good times

Dad and I headed down to central Auckland today to meet up with my sister and her husband.

We had coffee in the Viaduct area and then slowly wandered our way around and out to the end of Princes Wharf.

Dad is an old sea dog having spent many years up until my brother was born working as a Ships Engineer. He told us many tales of what he knew and experienced as a young fella in these parts.

How times have changed. Now this area is full of multi-million dollar yachts, bars, restaurants, gift shops and the wonderful Maritime Museum.

The latter Dad and I had visited in July so today we made do with lunch at the end of Princes Wharf. Very nice.

There was always something to look at on the harbour. Boats, ships and ferries coming and going. There was plenty to eat and drink too and of course there was much laughter and talking.

Many photos were taken today but this is the one I treasure the most. Jennie, Dad and Nick relaxed, having fun and enjoying the moment.

One very tired but happy Father-ship tonight.

Large is best
