Amos Brown's House
1825 blips! So we are in South Vermont having a short break in this amazing farm house which Becky found on the Internet. It's owned by the Landmark Trust and was the first house to be built in this part of the state. It was built by Amos Brown in 1802 and, after falling into disrepair, it was given first to a local heritage group and then purchased by the Trust who had sufficient funds to restore it with the help of a skilled British mason. I will post some of the interior blips on my flickr album but it's a very special place to stay, several miles from the nearest town Whittingham and half a mile down a dirt track. I'm writing this in the cafe of the Prospect Mountain Ski Resort awaiting the rest of the family who have ventured out on the cross country ski trails.
