The final day of the Palmer turn around

For many years the Amtrak Vermonter detoured to Palmer, Massachusetts and reversed direction to travel on a less direct set of tracks. After many years of track reconstruction the train, as of tomorrow, will now follow a more direct route from New York to Vermont making the trip at least an hour shorter. Being the last day the photographers and tourists were out in force. We just happened to be on the train going home.
