Watching
Once again it's the Summer Season, when yachts race to Hobart from Sydney and Melbourne, when tiny portions of food become the thing to have, and parking spots within a minute's walk of your destination become a rare commodity.
I went for a wander to look at Wild Oats XI, winner of line honours in the Sydney to Hobart, and to wait for Comanche to come in second. Most of Hobart was also down on the docks, soaking up some late afternoon sun, enjoying the buzz.
An evening at the Taste of Tasmania (pulled pork taco, tempura vegies, frozen Greek yoghurt) with a large group of friends, and a catch up with an old school friend once I got home.
Mmm, the Summer Season. My bank balance doesn't like it, but just occasionally you have to ignore that hollow echo of your bank balance and enjoy the event.
