Dining Like Kings
The little ones had had more than a fair amount of post school screen time, my lovely husband was still weeding the front garden and my dad was still building a shelf unit. It was ten past six and the tea was still not ready.
I needed a distraction before the little ones started tearing strips off each other and so tonights pudding got somewhat upgraded. Out went the option of a yogurt or a piece of fruit, and in came individual mini pavlovas.
With only the slightest amount of direction, my little ones went down to the basement and brought back whipping cream and raspberries from the fridge, took a packet of pre-made meringue nests out of the cupboard, worked together to whip the cream up and spoon it out into the nests and placed 6, or 7 or maybe it was 8, raspberries on top of each one.
With pudding made, the boys got to lick the bowls and spoons and eat the remaining raspberries and I got a bit of quiet to finish making the tea, tidy up the kitchen and set the table.
And, we all got to eat these lovely treats for dessert.
Win - Win - Win
and I had another one for supper, but no need to tell anyone about that ;)
