All is Calm...All is Striped

Dear Diary,

Late day light on the pond...racking shadows created quite an abstract effect on the surface.  Some of the pond is iced, some has a coating of water over the ice and the edges are still unfrozen.  This has been a very unusual winter for sure.

They say the temperatures will fall this week back to more normal ones.  No snow in the forecast until late in the week.  Weather isn't something you can do a thing about so you just have to accept whatever comes your way and deal with it.  Life can be a bit like that as well...change what you can, deal with the rest.

Lots of my friends are packing up to go south for the rest of the winter...snow birds we call them.  One can certainly see the appeal of it.  Burying my toes in warm sand right now is a lovely thought and just thinking about the warm Caribbean waters... Big sigh...
