Beech bole

This morning was even colder than yesterday - so my news service said.  Cold enough, anyway (win a trip to the Arctic, brr, no thanks!!).  But I couldn't resist this huge beech and the way light and shadow seems to skid over its elephant skin and monumental trunk.  So this is my blip for today.

Thanks to everyone who so kindly starred my pic for yesterday - I've had emails telling me of this though not many are showing up on my page yet. I guess I need to learn more about this new blip incarnation..
