Typical fieldwork

The albatross staking continues. Three of us knocked off about 100 nests
today before being driven back by the rain then sleet then snow. In
those sort of conditions it's not good for the birds to be disturbed on
the nest and not good for us to be getting damp in the field. So we
sheltered in the tussac to eat our sandwiches and the remaining bits of
christmas cake.
