The Old Owl House.
I have spent the last few lunchtimes at work, chasing around this area, the first tee on Fidra at Archerfield, East Lothian.
There is a tawny owl which sits in one of the trees in the late morning/early afternoon calling constantly, but I can't see it.
The observation platform was built to observe owls, but is now far too rickety to climb. It is just a "charming landscape feature."
One day, though, one day...
(While stalking/aimlessly blundering through the long grass the other day, I was lucky enough to hear two male cuckoos having a 'cuck-off' at each other. the first cuckoo of Spring and two come along together. Some days, eh?)
