Amaryllis Dying

Inspired by John Blakemore's series of tulip photos, I decided to return to the subject of an earlier blip, an amaryllis, that is moving to the later part of its life cycle.  The subject, death, seemed to merit a low key treatment, which given that my 'studio' consists of a 20W desk lamp from a well known Swedish  manufacturer and a sheet of black card, is a good thing.

Since photography is one of my hobbies, I'm entering this in this week's mono Monday challenge on the grounds that the photograph and the explanation above are symptomatic of that hobby.
