Spark or Telecom

I am probably too old but Spark does not seem to be a good name for a telecommunications company. Telecom thought that it would appeal to young customers and spent millions of dollars rebranding. It always amuses me when there are vehement howls of disapproval from opposition politicians regarding the current government privatising the power companies in 2014. It is conveniently forgotten that Telecom was sold for $4.25 billion to an alliance of Bell Atlantic and Ameritrch in 1990 by the then governing Labour party. Telecom (whoops Spark) is publicly listed on the New Zealand stock exchange. I still can't get used to Spatk!
