Christmastide

This year I am trying intentionally to not rush through Christmas so quickly. I'm trying to enjoy it a little longer.

Christmas for me means much work, so it starts to feel like less of a celebration and more like an effort. Now that the kids are grown up, I need to do more to redeem the season, and to find pleasure in it again.

So I'm enjoying the lights longer, listening to the music longer, taking time to be present to the real meaning of Christmas, and to let it shape my heart a little more.

It also means we don't have to rush to clean up for another year!
