Frosty Night At The Cathedral
It was a lovely evening and after having a coffee with the wife when she got in from her afternoon shift, as she went to bed, I went out in the cold.
About twenty minutes away is Llandaff Cathedral, Cardiff. I was hoping to get a star shot over the spire but, although they were there, there was a lot of cloud. Ah, well, there's always another time.
I have always liked the old cross on the main road as it sort of sets off the entrance to this majestic Cathedral. The house opposite is quite quaint and with them either side it makes for a nice composition.
The current building was constructed in the 12th century over the site of an earlier church. It is dedicated to Saint Peter and Saint Paul, and also to three Welsh saints: Dubricus, Teilo, and Oudoceus. It is one of two cathedrals in Cardiff, the other being the Roman Catholic Cathedral in the city centre.
