Christmas arrives

Up nice and early to set off for Hatfield to pick up son number two from University. Christmas can only start once he's home. Our bonkers sat nav send me a peculiar way but I got there in the end. Everything was packed so we were on our way home within a few minutes. We were home just after 10 and had the washing machine going by 11. 

Went out in search of a Christmas tree after lunch. We debated the artificial vs real options when we got to the garden centre and decided, for the first time in 25 yrs, to go for an elegant thin artificial version. It won't be up very long and the real ones are usually very wide bottomed and get in the way when we are sleeping downstairs. 

We put it up when we got home - it didn't need all of our larger baubles so I've put some of them in a bowl to have on the fireplace surround.

Great to have number two son back and to hear what he's been up to on his course.
