Man Time
After over enjoying the hospitality shown by our neighbours last night a walk was definitely required.
Off to Severn Beach we went. Originally created as a seaside resort, its fortunes have changed somewhat.
Now it's a quiet, commuter village and a railway line connects it to the bright lights of Bristol.
This is the more recent of the two bridges across the Severn at this point and is 18 years old. Conversations seem to indicate that people prefer the old bridge, although that is a bit more exposed and prone to closure.
Anyway, we had a walk, we had a chat - about Christmas, the year ahead, bad cooking and Christmas flatulence.
I don't know whether the fishermen had caught anything, had any plan to catch anything or were just having a bit of cave time. Either which way, it was a lovely afternoon to be out. We just couldn't work out why they were standing in the cold shadow of the bridge and not in the weak warmth of the winter Sun.
The final question we pondered was, 'Where are all those people on the bridge going to and coming from?'
