Twilight Hunting
Bitterly cold but an orange glow in the sky as the sun sank in the west over the Cotswold Hills. Silently winging in over the grasses in the still, sharp air came a short-eared owl at a very great distance - the first I've ever seen in the wild. Thrilling and extraordinary and I so wish he'd come closer.
I cannot explain what it feels like in the twilight silence to experience something so very special but uplifting, fascinating, and joyous - oh yes!! Magical - well certainly.
