Chairs under the Apple Tree.

It has snowed here steadily all day!   also it is pretty damn cold all of a sudden.   going from sort of a mild and green winter, to -9 C or lower today!   a bit of a shocker!   

It's been a very productive indoor sort of day!  i completely cleaned and reorganized my pastel palette!   wow what a job that was!   Because pastels are so different from any other medium, like water colour, oil or acrylic.......which offers you the ability to mix any hue, value or intensity from just a few paints, with pastels you need to have all the various hues  in a separate  stick.  this makes for many many sticks...and i may have mentioned i have an obsession with buying them!   most of the pastel artists i watch and learn from, arrange their tray like the colour wheel!   it's harder than it sounds.   trying to identify if that red is bluer (colder) or leaning more towards an orange (warmer) is tricky!   also they get so dirty and sometimes their true colour is obscured!   but now i have this awesome looking set up!  maybe i'll blip it sometime...before it gets totally messed up again!
