Knitting, sewing and other handiwork
A group of senior citizens made this new and different version of Akureyri's coat of arms. The artwork is 4,3 square meters in size and consists of 3,107 knitted and crocheted pieces, all sewn together to make this (computer-made) final pattern.
This piece and many, many more of beautiful handiwork could be seen at an annual crafts exhibition in Víðilundur, a local community center for senior citizens here in Akureyri. I went there for a quick visit today with a few colleagues from work.
Apart from this welcome distraction of the exhibition, this day has been awful. Headache and nausea from the early morning hours has left me no other choice but go to bed early. Like, 17:30 early :o/
