Looking East from Gable
The weather had a moodier edge to it today as we wandered up to Styhead Tarn & then turned right for Great Gable. I was out with a friend who was researching a 'source to Sea' expedition from the Tarn - rather her than me I thought as I looked at Taylor Gill Force - but she seemed excited. They're odd these water types!
The summit was firmly in cloud - and a surprising amount of wind - stopping for soup & a snack the temperature soon plummeted and we set off again quickly before the rime ice could form on us!
As we dropped down towards Base Brown we also dropped out of the cloud - and this wonderful vista opened up in front of us.
