Earlier in the day I disassembled and deep-cleaned the stove and found that it's in serious need of a service, and some new components. The problem with living 5.5hours from the but'n'ben is we're not close enough to keep an eye on the regular repairs required. Plans for a sporting weekend in March may have to involve rather more repairs than I'd anticipated.

My elbow is ending the year in slightly less functional condition than it started it, a happy new year would be a rapid recovery and full flex. 

No need to reflect on the events of 2014, they are done now. Just looking forward to 2015 with the usual blind optimism and unrealistic plans.
