Rewind the Year
Well that’s 2014 been and gone. A year of highs, lows, highs that became lows, and lows that became highs.
Well the first few months were utterly bonkers and yes there was stress but there was success and further success. And we received the awards for the good work in the middle and the end. But despite all that it was an end of an era for me.
It was a year of friendships, meeting new ones, losing touch with some and renewing old ones like it was yesterday. Those friendships mean so much to me, that sometimes words can’t express how much. But it also showed that maybe I’m not so comfortable with my own company after all.
A year of meeting heroes and legends such as Michael Palin, Fred Haise, Richard Parks, Paddington and of witnessing history in the making. And one eventful day that will live long in the memory, September 13th.
There were the challenges that continued to push me like WAAT4, Swansea 10k (see Michael Palin link) and the Cardiff Half Marathon.
And of course there was the obligatory annual injury, this year it was the shoulder, sunburn and scaphoid fracture.
If there’s one thing I learnt this year it’s that sometimes the things you want the most, are the things that can’t be chased and instead they come to you when you least expect it.
So now I look forward to 2015 and it’s going to be epic!
P.S. If you’re wondering why archaic video cassettes for the blip, it’s because I’ve been getting rid of loads of old Star Trek videos and other stuff.
