I met this afternoon with a young friend I’ve known since the Occupy encampment. He is a Krishna follower who wants to create a cadre of meditators-for-justice who might sponsor actions like this one, to demonstrate silently for peace and justice, especially in the face of militarized police violence against people of color. He belongs to a group of people who are interested in public meditation for justice. They need some instruction.

I agreed to give meditation instruction to any activists who want it, over the coming year, and to bring other meditators with me. A beginning. 


Our group motto would be a line from Buddhist lovingkindness meditation, “May all beings be safe.”
