Detente...

...is something our world can pray for and work toward in the year ahead.

Today the lady cardinal and white-breasted nuthatch paused to consider a new approach to possession of this highly coveted space in their park. In my imagination, the nuthatch was asking, "Could we share? Is there a way we could work something out without an altercation? Is peace possible in the woodland?" 

My new year's prayer is that the leaders of our world would do likewise. Detente would be a wonderful gift to the world in 2015.
